How recommendations work

How MARA creates your recommendations, what each one contains and how often they're refreshed.

Knowing your visibility is only the first step. Recommendations tell you what you can do to be recommended more often by AI platforms.

How MARA creates your recommendations

  1. MARA looks at your prompts with the lowest visibility.

  2. For each of them, MARA checks which hotels are recommended instead and which sources AI platforms read.

  3. MARA reviews your website and your main listings, such as Google, Booking.com, TripAdvisor and Expedia.

  4. MARA identifies what's missing and checks each finding before turning it into a recommendation.

Recommendations are based on your data from the last 7 days.

Types of recommendations

  • Listings: information missing or outdated in listings that AI platforms read often.

  • Citation gaps: pages that AI platforms read often for your prompts but that don't mention your hotel.

  • Content gaps: information guests look for that's missing on your website.

  • Technical: issues that make your website harder for AI platforms to read.

What each recommendation contains

  • What to do: the action in one sentence

  • Why: which prompts it affects and why it can improve your visibility

  • Ready-to-use content where it helps, for example text you can copy into your website or listing

Recommendations that affect many prompts usually have more impact than those that affect a single prompt.

How often recommendations are refreshed

With a paid plan, your recommendations are refreshed every month. During the free trial, they're created once, based on your initial data.

Review before you implement

Recommendations are generated with AI and checked automatically, but you know your hotel best. If a recommendation doesn't apply, for example because the information already exists, dismiss it.
