Your visibility score explained

What the score out of 100 means, how it's calculated and how to read it.

Your visibility score shows how often AI platforms mention your hotel when answering your tracked prompts. It's shown as a score out of 100.

What the score means

A score of 43 means that your hotel was mentioned in 43% of all chats in the selected period.

A chat is one answer from one AI platform to one prompt. Every time MARA runs your prompts, each prompt is asked on each of the four platforms. For example, 30 prompts on 4 platforms result in 120 chats per run. Your score counts in how many of these chats your hotel appears.

Which period the score covers

By default, your score covers the last 7 days. You can change the period with the date filter. Because MARA runs your prompts repeatedly, your score is based on many answers rather than a single snapshot. This makes it more reliable, since AI answers can vary from one run to the next.

Breaking down your score

Besides your overall score, you can see your visibility:

  • per prompt: for example, 50 means you were mentioned on half of the platform answers for that prompt

  • per AI platform: to see where you're strong and where you're missing

  • per prompt type: Destination Discovery, Segment-specific and Need-based

What's a good score?

There's no universal benchmark. Your score depends on how competitive your market is and on the prompts you track. A city hotel in a large city competes with many more hotels than a hotel in a small town, so a lower score can still be a strong result.

The most useful comparison is with your competitors for the same prompts. If your score is low but your competitors' scores are low too, your market is simply very competitive.

Why your score can change without any change in AI answers

Your score is calculated across all your tracked prompts. If you add, remove or edit prompts, your score changes too. Keep this in mind when you compare results over time.
