MARA Review Widgets allow you to display your hotel's latest review ratings from trusted platforms such as Google, Booking.com, and TripAdvisor directly on your website. By showcasing positive guest feedback, the widgets help build credibility and encourage potential guests to book directly with you, rather than through third-party platforms.
Creating a Review Widget
Setting up a MARA Review Widget is quick and easy. Follow these steps:
Log into your MARA account
Navigate to MARA Widgets.
Click on "Create New Widget"
Select the review platforms you want to display (Google, Booking.com, TripAdvisor).
Choose the widget type (floating badge or static embed).
Customize your widget
Adjust the position of the widget on your website.
Modify design elements to match your branding.
Configure which review platforms should be shown.
Choose the property.
Enable or disable external links.
Enable or disable review-gathering buttons.
Select sources such as Google, Booking.com, and TripAdvisor.
Set the positioning (bottom right, bottom left, top left, top right).
Save your widget
Copy the generated code snippet.
Types of Widgets
MARA offers two types of review widgets, allowing you to choose the best fit for your website:
Floating Badge
The floating badge remains visible at all times by hovering over the corners of your website. It stays fixed on top of your content, ensuring maximum visibility. You have the flexibility to select which corner it should appear in.
Static Badge
The static badge is embedded directly within your website’s content at a fixed location. Unlike the floating badge, it does not move as users scroll. You can place it anywhere on your site where it best complements your layout and design.
What the widget displays
Each widget shows your overall rating and the number of reviews it's based on, along with the logos of the platforms (e.g. Google, Booking.com, TripAdvisor) to build trust. There is deliberately no MARA logo - guests may not know MARA, but they trust the review platforms.
When a guest clicks the widget, an overlay opens with the individual score per platform and a "Review us" button. Both the platform links and the review button can be toggled on or off when you configure the widget.
Embedding the Widget on Your Website
To display the widget on your hotel website, insert the provided code into your site’s HTML. The process may vary depending on your website builder:
WordPress Users: Watch this tutorial video for step-by-step instructions.
Webflow, Wix, or Other Platforms: Insert the code snippet into the appropriate section of your page, such as a custom HTML block.
Number of snippets differs by widget type:
A floating badge needs one code snippet placed on the page where it should appear.
A static badge needs two snippets - one general snippet, plus a second snippet placed exactly where the badge should appear (e.g. in a code-embed block).
Important: a widget must be active to display on your website.

Building custom widgets with the API
The built-in widgets are designed for independent hotels and smaller groups who want a quick, attractive solution. If you want full control over the design (your own fonts, colors and layout), you can build your own widget using MARA's data via the API.
You still create a widget in MARA first, then use two endpoints:
Get all widgets - returns all widgets configured in your account.
Get widget visibility data (by ID) - returns the same data MARA uses in its built-in widgets: overall rating, total number of reviews, and the score and review count per configured platform.
